Wilco

Wilco travels to us on that great Americana highway with their opening track "Wilco" on their latest album titled Wilco. Lo-fi living keeps Wilco alive with liberties. Freedom of sound is explored at its roots. American in tradition, experimental with no limits. "One Wing" starts floating with a honesty of depth. "We may as well be made of stone, we can't be flown. One Wing, will never ever fly, neither yours or mine, I feel we can only wave goodbye". This songs emotion then soars to a Parliament Funkidelic like guitar ending. Wilco's art is influenced. "You Never Know" is Petty/Harrison number reminiscent of the Traveling Wilburys. Not bad company to be in. "Solitaire" has a Beachboys melody made their own. John Lennon is looking down with an eye open to " Everlating Everything". Gospel, Country, Blues, Soul, and Rock make up this multi talented band. As for what defines Americana, go see these road patriots at their summer baseball stadium tour near you. - Jason Philabaum
