The first single, “Don’t Trust Me” does not whatsoever paint a clear picture of this band. Their album Want is a mish mash of pop, rock, rap and electronica. It is overloaded with diverse elements that make you wonder from track to track—who are these guys and what are they trying to do? They have seemingly set out to try a little bit of a lot, and as I admire their ambition—I’m not sure it all works. While the beats are catchy, the lyrics get ridiculous (unless of course you are 15 years old). And if I start to see kids doing the “Helen Keller” like they do the Macarena, any thread of hope that pop music still had—will be destroyed.
