Psychedelic Rock
So you didn’t get to be part of the late 60’s, early 70’s flower power generation? Did you miss the deep groove of Cream or the harmonies of CSN? No need to worry. This Cincinnati, Ohio 3-piece ensemble understands what you need. “Get Together Now Today” opens the latest album, “Let it Ride.” Smile on your brother because Joseph Saballi and the Gabbard boy take you right back to passing the peace pipe around the campfire. This is NOT a trip down memory lane. It’s especially current in today’s times of computer-programmed music. Full of southern-twinged lazy guitars, “Leave the Sun Behind” will leave you daydreaming through your rearview mirror. Their fourth track, “If I Get Myself Anywhere,” has a good-timin’ Allman Brothers feel with a dancing guitar loop that builds into a full-moon jam. Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys produced, and, thanks to the Black Crows, the Buffalo Killers know their sound. They aren’t reinventing the wheel. Take “It’s a Shame” or “Take me Back Home” for example, the Black Keys would be proud to call them their own.
