[media id=1 width=320 height=240] I’m totally down with another Danger Mouse + The Black Keys tune. I can’t get enough of it. Its like the crack of Highland Square. The Black Keys will release their new album Brothers on May 18th via Nonesuch Records and we can’t wait. We’re told Danger Mouse produced one song on the album, Tighten Up, which you can listen to above. Check out that breakdown around the 2 minute 30 second mark — yeah, that’s exactly why we like Danger Mouse involved with The Black Keys. The official quote from Pat Carney on the new album is “Dan and I grew up a lot as individuals and musicians prior to making this album. Our relationship was tested in many ways but at the end of the day, we’re brothers, and I think these songs reflect that.” And if you ask Dan Auerbach, all about the music, he’ll tell you “We like spooky sounds…like Alice Coltrane, where a dark groove is laid down. That’s the headspace we tried to get into for this record”. As for upcoming shows, well, here is the tour so far which doesn’t include any Ohio dates. But we’re guessing they’ll land safely back in the Rubber City at some point this Summer. Or rather, we hope. Pre-sale tix get the the new album plus two digital tracks upon payment.
