Carlos Jones

Jones, who has a long history in Cleveland reggae, started out playing with I-Tal in the 70s, until he became frontman for rock/reggae group First Light for 14 years. Now he heads up the PLUS (Peace Love Unity Syndicate) Band, bringing Carribean rhythms and a positive message to the city of Cleveland. Other members of the PLUS Band include Will Douglas on drums, Cholly O on bass, Dan Shramo on lead guitar and vocals, Peter Platten on keys and vocals, Roy Isaacs on percussion and niyabinghi, and Bob Caruso and Curt Johnson, both on congas and percussion. They create an energetic and uplifting atmosphere, pulling from influences such as Bob Marley, The Beatles and Steel Pulse. They focus on playing more roots-oriented reggae with Rastafarian themes. Admission to the show is $5 in the Music Hall.
