Tom Petty got it right when he said the waiting is the hardest part.  And whether you’re waiting to go out and perform a concert to thousands of people like Petty was singing about or you’re just waiting to get your lip pierced, truer words have never been spoken.  Piercings are becoming more and more popular all the time and with so many different options, they are a way not only to express yourself but also to show off your creativity.

Art Bomb Tattoos in downtown Massillon offers more than just tattoos, they have one of the largest selections of stones and jewelry to give you any piercing look you want.  They also feature only high quality materials and the staff is constantly sterilizing and cleaning the studio to make sure that customers have the best experience possible.  While many other studios are sacrificing quality so they can offer a lower price, Art Bomb Tattoos is taking the opposite approach.

All peircings begin the same way.  First, you talk with the piercing technician and they make sure that they understand exactly what you want and you understand exactly what they are going to do.  Next, the staff bombards you with some general information about what to expect after it’s done and how to take care of it while the wound is healing.  Everyone in the studio makes sure that the customer understands what they have to do to prevent infection or anything else and they are very friendly and helpful about it.  They go over anything that could possibly go wrong and explain what you should do if it happens.  Then comes the hardest part: the waiting while they clean and disinfect the jewelry. It takes about 45 minutes for the whole process to be completed.  It can seem like an eternity.

Just a pinch!

When Buzzbin staffer Megan went to get her lip pierced, it was definitely the longest wait ever. When we got to the studio she remarked that she really wasn’t that nervous but as we sat and waited she became more and more anxious about the piercing, her hands began to sweat and her voice even started shaking a little.  Usually Megan is a pretty calm and collected person, so it was clear that her nerves were getting to her.  When it was finally time to get the piercing done, Rob, the piercer, took his time and explained in detail exactly what he was doing every step of the way.  He calmed Megan down and helped her to relax.  Most importantly though, he took his time to ensure that the piercing would look amazing.  When everything was finally over, Megan admitted, “that wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.”

Ouuch!

Megan, and tons of others just like her are proving that having a piercing is cool and doesn’t necessarily make you an outcast in society.  Today it seems like just about everywhere you go there is somebody with a crazy piercing or tattoo and, even though they might look a little unconventional, they are really no different from anyone else.  Megan has a normal job and is part of the NEO Roller Derby and her piercings don’t take away from any of that, they just make her an even more interesting person.  Piercings are just a different way for them to express themselves and to stand out from everyone else.  So next time you are looking for a new way to express yourself, maybe consider getting something pierced.   Just remember, it really doesn’t hurt that bad; the waiting is the hardest part.

Totally worth it.
