By: Julia Kazar — SHOW CANCELLED – SORRY FOLKS – Check LiveNation.com for updates — Tomorrow night, July 20th, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will return once again to Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls. The show promises to be, as all of Petty’s shows are, incredible. This is one show you don’t want to miss. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are touring this summer in support of their newest album, Mojo, which was released June 15th to mixed reviews. While there are definitely some great aspects to the album, it doesn’t sound like the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers we have known and loved for years. Instead of following the formula that has worked for the band in the past, a mix of heartland rock and catchy pop, the band went with a more country and blues inspired theme this time. Fans will definitely hear a difference and hopefully it will be a difference they like.
One of the standout tracks on Mojo is called “No Reason to Cry”, a song that sounds similar to classic Heartbreakers with a slight country twist on it. It’s good that The Heartbreakers are shaking things up a little though. They need to keep changing their sound so they don’t get boring. One thing is for sure though, the show tomorrow night will be anything but boring. Every time Tom Petty puts on a show he makes sure that the audience enjoys it. He tries to mix in some of his biggest hits that he has had over the years with his new songs and, with over thirty years of music to choose from, the song list never gets stale. Come out to Blossom tomorrow night and catch Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, put on their best show yet. When you purchase your tickets you will also receive a code to download Mojo on iTunes for free. Take advantage of this as soon as possible. You won’t want to miss out.
