Lock Up Your Eyeliner: Thirty Seconds to Mars Plays Kent

Maybe its Maybelline

A new date and a new venue for Thirty Seconds to Mars will impact Cleveland fans. Thirty Seconds to Mars was rescheduled to play at Kent State main campus, this Friday, October 8, Neon Trees opens up. Show begins at 8:00pm. Jared Leto has been on my Sex Bomb Radar since 1994 when he sang “I Wanna Be Sedated” as Jordan Catalano. However, the paparazzi pictures of him with a rat tail threatened to knock him off of my top ten list…yowza. After a solid indie movie career, Leto formed his band to some negative reception. Once Thirty Seconds to Mars proved themselves as a tiny bit more than a pretty face holding a guitar; they started to garner some serious success. Jared Leto and the rest of Thirty Seconds to Mars are fresh off of one of their biggest months to date. Three European Movie Award nominations, there’s time to vote. They also had killer shows in front of tens of thousands of rabid fans and then snapped up a Video Music Award, Best Rock Video for “Kings and Queens”. Their 2009 release “This is War” is the focal point of their October tours. Their tour has also faced a few re-arrangements and last minute additions, Cleveland being affected. The show is NOT AT HOUSE OF BLUES, it has been transplanted to Kent State. From the research I dug up, the set list has been pretty respectable. They have been doing crowd pleasers, A Beautiful Lie and The Kill. Thirty Seconds to Mars has been known to do covers of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and Kanye West’s “Stronger”, so, cross your fingers.
