To commemorate The Ramones Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Grammy Awards, three acclaimed Cleveland establishment’s have join forces to celebrate the occasion. On Saturday, February 19th, Happy Dog (in the Gordon Square district of Cleveland) will kick things off with Ramonesmania, the first of what organizer Jim Lanza hopes to be an annual evening of Ramones tribute performances. The line up includes The Pinheads (featuring CJ Gunn, who played with Markey Ramone), The Giggitys, Missle Toe and Violent Suburban Marriage. A $5 dollar cover will be charged at the doors as things get underway at 7:30pm. After Ramonesmania, fans can head to a midnight screening of The Ramones themed 70s cult classic Rock N Roll High School at the Capitol Theatre. Enthusiast are encouraged to dress as their favorite character at both the show and the screening with Happy Dog offering up a costume contest while Capitol Theatre are offering up a free 32oz popcorn for anyone in a Joey Ramone style leather jacket. Fear not ladies, those dressed as Rock N Roll High School’s Riff Randall (ala her signature satin jacket) will be eligible as well. Last but surely not least, Cleveland’s Melt Bar & Grilled will be offering four limited edition Ramones-themed open faced pizza sandwiches on both Friday, Feb. 18th and Saturday, Feb. 19th. Attendees can choose between The Joey Ramone 3 Cheese Meltdown, The Johnny Ramone Veggie Lovers, The Dee Dee Ramone Meat Lovers or The Markey Ramone Garlic White.
