New Beer Column on the Buzzbin Interwebs! This Week We Review Sierra Nevada Glissade

Here’s the premise:  We give this beer drinking dude Ryan a bunch of different beers which we have purchased at one of our favorite beers stores, Portage Lakes Brewing Co. (365 beers in store.,..one for every day of the year!  Call 330-644-BEER [2337]), and he takes them one by one to the head.  If he gives it a thumbs up then we’re good, otherwise, well you get the point.  This week he has reviewed Sierra Nevada Glissade.  Check the video below. Ryan’s word: Many mountain climbers know the best way down a snowy hill is to employ a technique known as the glissade. This may sound hairy to the novice but it is simply sliding down the hill to save energy for important things, like opening a beer in your lodge. And what better beer to open than Sierra Nevada’s own Golden Bock, Glissade? The name is no mistake; this beer simply slides over your tongue and brings you to a warmer state of mind. When the bottle is first opened a grassy floral bouquet wafts out like a spring breeze. The body is slightly sticky and coats your mouth though it is definitely not heavy like a porter or stout. Were it not for the alcohol content your grandmother may serve this to you for a sore throat with it’s strong notes of clove and a sweet finish of honey and warm hops. Though the flavor is not the size of a mountain this beer will definitely aid in the transition from snowpocalypse to springtime thaw. The time of year is perfect for a good bock and Sierra Nevada’s entry fits the bill. 4/5 www.GetDrunkUp.com
