Currently residing in The Netherlands, though born in Belgrade, formerly Yugoslavia, blues musician Ana Popovic first learned to play guitar at the young age of 15. Debuting in 2000 with her album HUSH, she later released a second album along with a live CD/DVD there after. Popovic has even chalked up a few accolades including the “Jazz a Juan_Revelation 2004” in Juan Le Pins, France. In 2007, she signed her first US record deal with L.A.’s Delta Groove Music and recorded “Still Making History”, which spent 19 weeks on the Billboard blues chart. Her latest album “Blind for Love” was produced by Mark Dearnley, who has also worked with the likes of AC/DC, Tom Petty and Paul McCartney just to name a few. Last month Ana traveled to New Orleans to record her third American album with Grammy Award winning producer John Porter. Ana Popovic’s intermingling of electric blues slide guitar, jazz-fused instrumentals and soul-embodied vocals create something truly original for all to hear and see. You can get a little taste of it all when Ana Popovic makes her way to Cleveland to play the Beachland Ballroom on March 2nd.
