Rock Da Arts Celebration Delivers Local Young Talent!

IlluminArts is a nonprofit, charitable organization that promotes the arts, and enhances the identity of Stark County and surrounding areas as a vibrant, visionary and arts-oriented region. Those behind the organization believe that bringing artists, arts organizations, and community members together to network is critical to building a united and diverse arts community. By expanding community awareness about the relationships between arts and learning it will increase the ways art is used to educate youth. On Friday, March 18th at 6:30PM, Illuminarts will throw a benefit show entitled Rock Da Arts, which will feature a handful of local talent from surrounding high school rock groups including Messyface, who recently participated in The Repository’s 8th Annual Battle of the Bands and Sicadia, who just released their debut album this past December. The lineup is as follows: -       Nathan Crock with Rachel Crozier (of Perry) -       Messyface (from Jackson) -       Grip Wright and the Fasteners (from Hoover) -       Flownation (hip-hop artists from McKinley and Timken) -       Shepler Church (of Perry) -       Sicadia (of Lake) -       Joe Bills and Friends (of Mckinley) The Illuminarts celebration is held to raise awareness of the arts, increase participation in the arts and build connections between the arts and the community. Rock Da Arts will take place in the Timken High School Auditorium. Tickets are available for 5$ and will benefit Illuminarts’ arts mentoring program.
