The Canton Museum of Art will present the second, annual Canton National Art Show, with a preview event scheduled for April 29 and the art show on April 30 and May 1, 2011. The Canton National is a juried fine art show and sale which features 72 professional artists from across the United States.  A photo gallery of exhibiting artists can be found at www.CantonNational.com. The Canton National is unique for the quality and variety of artists, as well as the elegant ambiance of the indoor setting in the Cultural Center for the Arts in downtown Canton.  Show director, Ron Beahn, balances the show, selecting 6 artists per category – including conceptual acrylic/oil painting, traditional acrylic/oil, watercolor, sculpture, mixed media, graphics, clay, glass, jewelry, fiber art and furniture. According to Beahn, “the resulting show is a diverse and visually stunning display of professional artists and is the premier, indoor fine art event in Ohio.” The show is broadly promoted, to attract visitors throughout Ohio and surrounding states. Admission to the show is $8 at the door.  Discounted tickets can be purchased at the Canton Museum of Art prior to April 29th for $6. Admission proceeds benefit the Canton Museum of Art. A Preview Party event will be held on April 29th, from 6 to 9:00 PM. This is a special opportunity to see the show first, meet the artists and enjoy a wonderful spread of nationally-inspired cuisine, prepared by Chef Ken, of Brookside Country Club. Desserts by the Museum Guild, wine, beer and soft-drinks are included in the ticket price of $50 with advance registration, ($60 at the door).  Reservations can be made online atwww.CantonNational.com or by calling 330-453-7666.
