Rootwire is an anti-establishment, livetronica festival in Kaeppner’s Woods in Logan, Ohio. Void of cheesy headliners and big corporate sponsorship, the fest shows what people can do when they pool resources towards a common goal. This year the festival will host over 50 musical acts on three stages, plus a silent disco stage, a live-art circus tent and over 50 visual artists. The festival, now in its second year, is more than just art and music: It also features performers from varied fields like hooping and poi performers, who perform in front of the stages on raised platforms as part of the show. The fest will have music by up-and-coming acts that blend jazz,rock, fuck and electronica in the jam-band tradition. Among the featured musical acts are Kilowatts, The Werks, The Malah, Zoogma and Ultraviolet Hippopotamus.
