MANN-ICONS Take Over

Since you’re going to be in downtown Canton for First Friday, why not make a quick stop over at Anderson Creative for MANN-ICONS, the new exhibit. Curated by Anderson Creative’s Heather Bullach during her first time curating an entire exhibit. This exhibit has art from 14 different artists who have worked to create art inspired by different cultural icons – whether it’s someone from American history, a celebrity, a character from literature or the politician, they’re all there. The artists were asked to design a wooden drawing figure, a shelf for them and a 2D backdrop for them to stand in front of as they give pop culture new life. The exhibit was inspired by the “Cow Parade” public art exhibit from Chicago where life-sized cows took over the city. Now pop culture is shrunken down and taking over Anderson Creative for the month. So make sure you check out the amazing art by Lindsey Bailey, Joseph Close, Joe Shipbaugh, Erin Sweeney, Erin Mulligan, Bob Yost, Kevin Anderson, John Boyett, Chris Rood, Kait Beck, Deanna D’Amico, Clare Murray Adams, David McDowell and Mari Kasurinen. If you aren’t going to be in Canton for First Friday, don’t fret. The exhibit will remain open to the public through Aug. 27, Wednesday through Saturday from 12-5 at Anderson Creative at 331 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, Ohio.
