Here at Buzzbin Magazine, we love our Fat Head’s beer and are delighted that Brewmaster Matt Cole is on a mission to bottle and distribute their delicious brews.
According to a recent article by Ohio Beer Blogger Rick Armon, Cole plans to reach the masses as early as next year. He first plans to hit Ohio and then move on from there. Currently the new brewery has the ability to produce 10,000 barrels a year. After reaching all of Ohio the next step is to reach eastern Pennsylvania, New York and the southern part of Michigan.
As one would have assumed, Fat Head’s will first bottle their award winning Head Hunter IPA along with Bumbleberry and a few seasonals Cole has up his sleeve.
The brewpub and production brewery setup will be similar to Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Cleveland while the Fat Head’s brewpub system will be used to focus on Belgian styles, small batches and experimental beers.
Cole expects to start brewing for the bottles in December.
On a different note, Cole recently was asked to create an exclusive beer called Yakima Sun in England but was forced to tweak it to reduce the IBUs for the British public. In an effort to unleash it in its true form, Cole is making the Yakima Sun at Fat Head’s using his original recipe. It will be unveiled Oct. 8 at the third annual IPA Festival where there will be two tasting sessions.
