January 26 – Cleveland – Beachland Ballroom Directly from the band:We have done a number of national tours before, most prominently supporting Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. This time we are headlining ourselves. If you’re not familiar with the band, we are from Southern California (Echo Park) and feature brother and sister singer-songwriters Rob and Rachel Kolar, tap dancing drummer Lauren Brown (sounds like a gimmick but she transcends that and amazes every night), stand up bassist Oliver “Sparkles” Newell, and sit down (slide) guitarist Aaron Robinson. We have just emerged from the studio where we have recorded a new album with Thom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, The Rosewood Thieves, Vetiver, Fruitbats, Little Joy, Beachwood Sparks) producing. The album is executive produced by American Idol’s Randy Jackson. Talk about a yin and a yang! We will be previewing the album, and tuning up the show for this year’s SXSW.
