For those of you who made it out the Cleveland International Film Festival this year, then you know we sponsored a fantastic little gem called Daylight Savings. Filmgoers showed their love for the film packing both screenings to the brim. If you missed the film, fear not as director Dave Boyle and actor/musician Goh Nakamura are hoping to take the film (along with its predecessor) on the road for a national tour across the U.S. This year.
Boyle has teamed up with Kickstarter to make this dream a reality. Just in case you have lived in a cave these last few years, Kickstarter is a crowd funding website for creative projects such as films, music and all sorts of other artistic endeavors. Each artist designates a price point, in which they hope to raise in order to make their project happen. The catch, however, is that the project will only be funded if backers reach that amount in the allotted time limit of the campaign.
Here is where you come in. These talented filmmakers only have five days left to make this happen. Not only is the money going to a great artistic cause but you also get some stellar rewards in the process. Just 15 dollars gets you HD digital downloads of both Daylight Savings and Surrogate Valentine, the film that started it all. Pitch in 100 dollars and you will be the proud owner of signed copies of all of Dave Boyle’s films. Donate 4000 big ones and the director will cast you in a role in his next film.
So take a few minutes out of your day and a couple bucks out of your wallet to help these great people reach their goal.
