Beer of the Month! Buffalo Bill’s Pumpkin Ale

The color is amber orange and seems a bit on the lighter side. The white head on this ale dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing. Surprisingly Buffalo Bill’s taste is simply stunning and very smooth. It tastes exactly like it smells, which is a hard thing to achieve for pumpkin beer. The spices are strong up front followed by the same wet pumpkin flavor. The beer really hits you with pumpkin from the first sip and finishes with just as much flavor. To me if it says it is a pumpkin ale, it has to taste like pumpkin and this beer does not disappoint! This has been a wonderful start to the fall season and I hope to find more brews as tasty as this. If you like pumpkin pie try this beer. It is literally pumpkin pie in a bottle, and I am sure a shot glass of whipped cream would be a good chaser. September is that transitional month when we bid summer a fond farewell and welcome fall. With it comes cooler weather, the red and yellow coloring of trees, and the excellent fall brews! This month I picked up a six-pack of pumpkin ale from Buffalo Bill’s Brewery to greet my favorite season. As soon as you pop this beer you can tell it’s pumpkin ale. The notes of cinnamon and nutmeg hit you first thing followed by wet pumpkin. Some notes of clove and caramel malt hover along side the pumpkin. It is a very pleasing smell and I can’t wait to drink it.
