Here are a few of my favorites. GOOSE ISLAND SUMMERTIME (4.7%) A Kölsch beer brewed in the traditional German fashion, Summertime is a nice summer season beer to counter the macrobrews that fill your local shelves. Hints of fruity notes, such as lemon peel and banana, can be tasted with each swig and make this one, for the most part, a drinkable beer. Whether I’d grab a bottle of Flying Dog’s ...

Anheuser-Busch InBev, the corporate owners of Budweiser/Bud Light, Beck's, Stella Artois and a pile of other names, have announced they will be releasing a new beer to their lineup in January - Bud Light Platinum. Bud Light Platinum will fall between Bud and Bud Light when it comes to calories, but will set above both of the others in ABV at six percent. The Boston Globe brings up a good point - "I'm not sure how A-B InBev can call this new beverage a 'light beer' when it has more alcohol than regular Budweiser and only 8 fewer calories." The overwhelming consensus is that InBev is doing...
So where is the love for our beloved area code in the good old beer world? Goose Island has their 312 Urban Wheat Ale (which is making a change in the near future to Baldswinville, New York home of the 315 area code) while Anheuser-Busch InBev is seeking to trademark area codes in many major cities, including 216 in Cleveland, but where is all the love for Northeast Ohio's 330. John Najeway, co-owner of Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, is ready is getting some love to the home of Buzzbin Magazine with his latest creation 330 Summit IPA. The India Pale Ale, which was made with all Summit hops,...
