Coco Montoya was mentored by the legendary blue master Albert Collins. Billboard called Montoya, "the real McCoy in a world of blues guitar pretenders." He plays with...
When he was 3 years old, he was playing drums and drawing like crazy. When he was 14, he picked up the bass. He has toured all over the U.S. and beyond. Both his day job and night gigs form a life in which he is always doing something he loves, creating. He is Gerard Dominick. Dominick currently plays bass in The Juke Hounds, a rocky blues band based in Akron. They had planned on playing at the Kent Blues Fest until they ran into some scheduling problems. After winning the Northeast Ohio Road to Memphis Competition, The Juke Hounds competed in the International Blues Competition in Memphis....

Those in the mood for a little blues this summer can head to Kent for their annual Blues Fest this July. Held across a number of the city’s venues, the blues festival is a celebration of the beloved music genre and its wide range of talented musicians. The festival ends on Saturday evening with a one-of-a-kind performance at the Kent Stage by the James Cotton Blues Band (led by the famed James Cotton, of course) and the talented Guy Davis. The cool thing about the Kent Blues Festival is that the venues are within walking distance from one another, which will give attendees time to stop by to...

If you’re free on Saturday and feel the need to see some absolute blues legends, then why not take the trip down to Youngstown for the Blues Fest. The City of Youngstown and Tangled Up in Blues, a blues radio show down in the area, worked together to bring two blues legends to the show, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. Robert Cray is a blues guitarist and singer and five-time Grammy Award winner. He’s toured with Eric Clapton time and time again. And he’s a Blues Hall of Fame inductee. Cray is definitely a legend worthy of headlining the Blues Fest. Joining him on stage is Buddy Guy, ano...
The Rubber City Blues Festival featuring Shemekia Copeland & Debbie Davies hits this Friday!...

James Cotton’s has been interested in music his whole life, one of his earliest memories is of his mother making chicken and train sounds on a harmonica. When he was a little older he met the great Sonny Boy Williamson and essent...
