Patch Atomz, a hip-hop artists we've known from even before the time of Buzzbin has submitted his album for review. Of course Buzzbin's staff friendly music lovers will chime in but this is the 21st century and we want to hear what you have to say about the album. Chime in below and anything reasonable intelligent has a chance of making it into the print version of Buzzbin in August. From what I know about Patch, and The In-Sect project is that these guys play in the underbelly of Canton. They'll show up in artists warehouses, at drum circles, and on street corners to perform. Here is the...

John Lane and his golden creation Winking Lizard has been a staple of the craft beer scene in Northeast Ohio for more than 25 years. Already known for their array of beers — more than 100 in bottles — and rotating taps of more than a dozen each month on draft, the inevitable next step was a retail store. In early 2011, Lizardville came to be. Housed in the original location of the first Winking Lizard in Bedford Heights and featuring over 600 rare and unique beers and another eight on draft, it became a mecca for beer aficionados. The Lizardville beer store and whiskey bar allows drinke...

Not until June 16th at Lock 3 in Akron, that is. However, you can get a taste of the new album in downtown Canton on June 1st at the Buzzbin Art & Music Shop at the exclusive listening party. This is a benefit for Project Rebuild who install the new banner system on the side of the building as well as the bar inside Buzzbin. We love those dudes. Buzzbin recently got in touch with the harmonica playing sexy country star, Stacie Collins. We discussed what it was like to be on the road, her history with Cleveland and her love of music. Below is the transcript of our conversation. Go ahead and tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get started? What inspired you? Well, I married a musician. I was a music lover and through my association with my husband Al, who plays bass, I had the opportunity to be immersed in the rock and roll world. He was in bands previously, he was always touring. But eventually we discovered that we h...

Unless you live in a hole, you know the Grammys happened last night. Adele took home a Grammy trifecta (best album, song and record), the Black Keys lost to Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse, and everyone was in tears about Whitney Houston's untimely passing. Buzzbin wrangled up some locals (which is a lot like herding cats) to give us their take on last night's event. Michael Socrates, If These Trees Could Talk: "I'm just happy to see Adele take home every category she was nominated in. She's fantastic and totally deserving of all the accolades being thrown her way. I actually proposed to...

The Franklin, Ind. -based and provocatively named punk-rock outfit Mr. Clit and the Pink Cigarettes will make an appearance at the Buzzbin Art and Music Shop on January 20, in the midst of a tour that runs from Anaheim, Calif., to Cape Coral, Fla. The tour also includes stops in Las Vegas, Indianapolis and a handful of other Florida locales. The punk trio’s sound might be described as a mix of classic Breeders and the Dead Milkmen, with a noise-punk framework that is often interspersed with more straightforward musical sections. The song “White Cow,” for instance, begins as a riffy pu...

Buzzbin is dedicated to keeping our readers intelligent and informed. So when the magazine’s office was recently visited by a rather strange fellow named John Titor, we took notice. John was convinced he was a visitor from the future. We couldn’t find evidence to believe otherwise. According to his garbled bantering, his mission was to inform the masses of future events in hopes of changing the course of history. Here is an outline of Mr. Titor’s predictions... China, the World’s Mad Hatter During the world’s tea party — also known as the G20 summit — China’s President Hu J...

Akillis Green grew up in a rusty shack in Miamisburg, Ohio, where he discovered his love of music. After years of playing in punk-rock bands he found himself feeling empty and unfulfilled, so he traded in his electric guitar for an acoustic and commenced to writing his own style of old-time American roots tunes. On stage Akillis looks like a cross between a modern-day Buddy Holly and a whiskey-soaked gutter punk, and he has a full band of tattooed misanthropes backing him. They got the rock and the roll and know how to stir the pot of punk-infused Americana with the best of them. Be sure to ca...

Hailing from Philadelphia, Good Old War has strived to create rapturous indie folk tunes for the last three years. Comprised of Keith Goodwin, Daniel Schwartz and Tim Arnold, Good Old War splits its time between recording folk-rock songs that would make Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel blush and serving as Circa Survive frontman Anthony Green’s backing band, both in the studio and on the road. Goodwin and Arnold originally made waves with the progressive rock band Days Away before calling it quits and forming Good Old War. The band obtained their unique name from taking portions of each music...

December 17 - Alliance - College Plaza While Jessicka Havok is Buzzbin's favorite wrestler on the independent circuit, she is hardly the only one worth mentioning. Local promotion MCW's roster is jammed full of top notch talent, which will be showcased during it's final show of the year. On December 17 there will be three title belt matches featuring some top notch athletes. Not content with three big matches, MCW is having a dog collar chain match. Luscious Larry will be attached to Wilbur Whitlock by a length of chain attached by two dog dollars in what promises to be a knock down drag down...
