“Spinal Tap” is a movie that gets thrown around more than its fair share when it comes to band biographies, documentaries and the like. “At The End Of The Day, The Story of the Blaze Bayley Band,” is essentially the story of “Spinal Tap” on crack. If “Spinal Tap” went to 11, then the story of Blaze Bayley and the Blaze Bayley Band goes to 1,000. Bayley is widely known as the ex-vocalist of Iron Maiden who filled in Bruce Dickinson’s shoes when Dickinson basically started mailing things in the early 90s and left the band for dead to pursue solo work. Two full-length albums ...

The Wonder Years is a pop punk band out of PA that began in 2005. They are signed to Hopeless Records and have released three full length albums, two EPs and several compilations since their beginnings. The Binterns got to talk to bassist, Josh Martin. Carmen: What’s a necessity for tour? Josh: Gold bond. Michelle: Gold bond? Josh: I’m just being honest. It keeps you cool and keeps your things dry, like your shoes and unmentionables. It’s a necessity. Carmen: That’s a good thought. Josh: It’s hot out here, I’m not playing games and I’m a little overweight, so...

The Dead Records are young, intense and seriously rocking. Composed of Aaron Taylor (vocals, guitar), Chad Briner (guitar), Will Magley (bass) and Sean Richardson (drums), Fort Wayne, Ind.-based The Dead Records sound like a cross between The Gaslight Anthem and The Hold Steady. Job for a Cowboy Tues. 12/14 @ Peabody’s, Cleveland For a while, all anyone would say about this band was how young they all were.  All that has changed, and their rise to the top has been fast.  They’ve created a blend of musicianship and cutting-edge songcraft to treat you to some modern extreme in intense music.  The southern Ohio band Skeletonwitch will offer an extreme open. The Queers / Kepi Ghoulie Tues. 12/14 @ Grog Shop, Cleveland It took The Queers 11 years of the grind to achieve some sort of notoriety.  Which is a crime, as their catchy pop-punk show is a wick...

By: Julia Kazar Indie pop group Miniature Tigers is coming to Musica in Akron on Wednesday August 11th.  Formed just a few short years ago, Miniature Tigers are quickly making a name for themselves.  In 2006, Rolling Stone Magazine named the band “one of the 25 best bands on MySpace” and their first two EPs, White Magic and Black Magic, both received four stars from Death + Taxes, an indie music magazine.  The band has since released two new full length albums; Tell it to the Volcano, which was released in the fall of 2008, and Fortress, which was released this summer.   Fortres...

By Tim Webb For a stridently independent artist, Jackson Rohm’s album output is rather impressive: six full-length albums in under a decade. Self-releasing that many albums is a mark that shows, for someone who probably doesn’t sell a whole lot of records, he believes wholeheartedly in his art. As he should. Acoustic Sessions finds the pop country singer dialing his already feathery-light music down to sparse, unplugged pop songs. The 14 songs, all written by Rohm, abide by the standards for modern country music; quick bridges that explode into choruses the size of Montana’s sk...
