Dirty hands and knee pads are a given at this month’s First Friday, as Chalk the Walk returns to the streets on June 1 from 6-10 p.m. in the Canton Arts District. Twenty teams of artists, including Jeff Keirn’s infamous Chalk Monkeys, will be on the loose and running wild with ideas that range from the surreal to the sublime. Finalists selected to compete in the Repository’S Battle of the Bands Seven bands have been selected to compete in The Repository’s Battle of the Bands to be held Saturday, March 3. Cantonfilm.com, in association with the Canton Palace Theatre, will host the Canton Film Festival 2011 in downtown Canton on October 13th, 14th, and 15th. Ohio’s premiere progressive rock festival, OhioProg, announces its inaugural year. OhioProg is set to take place over three days, September 7, 8 & 9 of 2012 at the Canton Palace Theatre located at 605 Market Avenue North in Downtown Canton, Ohio.
