Saturday night, at the benefit concert "A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation," Lady Gaga once again shocked the not-yet-numb world with a set full of suggestive dancing, sexual innuendos and, ultimately, an F-bomb of the highest order. Gaga's shocking language came shortly after she danced directly in front of the Clintons and claimed "I love you and your hot wife." She took her seat at the piano to start her altered rendition of "You and I," but paused to declare: "If someone had told me so many years ago that I'd be doing that right in ...
If you knew nothing about Illstyle Rockers and looked them up, you’d discover their break-dance battles on YouTube, but this group is so much more beyond that. MCing, DJing, Beatboxing and dancing are all aspects of Illstyle Rockers. They truly do it all. Members of Illstyle performed at Annabell's Bar & Lounge Saturday night. Old school funk and hip-hop could be heard even from the patio. Members would go onto the dance floor and pop a few moves every once in a while as the basement slowly filled with an assorted audience: a couple and their teenage daughter, hipster kids who usually...

By: Julia Kazar Shmalex, Joshy and Rawrb!, the members of the fun loving humorcore band Psychostick, are getting ready to wrap up their summer tour, but not before a stop at The Carriage House in Louisville. The concert takes place this Saturday, July 31st. Opening for the band is Look What I Did, a hardcore metal band from Nashville. Get ready for a night of head banging and eardrum shattering music. About a month ago I had the chance to talk to Rawrb! aka Rob Kersey, the band's lead vocalist, about the tour and what Psychostick is currently working on. “We recently releas...
By: Julia Kazar On Saturday night, Barberton's The Heights Band took the stage at The Backstage Concert Club in Akron for an amazing show. According to their Facebook page, their motto is “rocking hard and loud” and they definitely lived up to it that night. Before The Heights Band took the stage Tweaktronic and the Woovs both played, getting the crowd pumped up for the headliners to take the stage. Made up of brothers Ryan and Dustin Dockery, Kyle Finley and Richie Levers, THB looks like a bunch of guys you wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of, but in reality they are som...
By: Julia Kazar The Barberton blues band The Heights is getting ready to perform at The Backstage Concert Club in Akron on Saturday, July 24th. The Woovs, another Barberton band, is opening for them. Formed just a few years ago, The Heights are becoming one of the biggest bands in the area, creating their own unique sound and drawing from a ton of classic rock influences, including everything from The Beatles to Neil Young to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Late last year The Heights released their first demo, We Are The Heights Band, which you can check out on their MySpace page. ...
By Julia Kazar On Saturday night, the NEO (Northeast Ohio) Roller Derby girls took on the Skee Town Skirtz and Motor City's Disassembly Line in a double header bout. Things weren’t looking too good after NEO's Audio Assault lost the first bout to Skee Town, but the NEO Rock'n'Rollergirls pulled together and pulled off a huge win over Detroit in the second bout; with a final score of 156-79. Everyone who came out to support the girls was a huge help, cheering them on to a victory. If you missed this one though don’t worry there are still a few more bouts coming up this seaso...
